Dear Members and Friends:

As we begin our fourth decade, we reflect on all that we have accomplished in the past 30 years. In November 1981, a group of dedicated Metaphysicians started a little church on the side of the road in Arlington, Virginia. Over the years, countless thousands have crossed our threshold seeking spiritual unfoldment. Through the many services and activities our church provides: worship, classes, counseling, circles, community outreach and social events, our visitors come with a thirst for knowledge and leave fulfilled. Many things have changed over the years, but one fact remains the same: we have held steadfastly to our mission to glorify God through worship and service, and it is our intention to continue this path for many years to come.

Another fact is that none of our success could have happened without the efforts of many volunteers and the generosity of our friends and family. It is through the effort of volunteers and donations that we have been able to touch our community in so many ways.

As you may know, our three church buildings have served our neighborhood for 85 years or more, and like our congregation, they need lots of tender, loving care in order bring out the best in them. In the past year, we have made extensive investment, around $25,000, to preserve the infrastructure for our bright future. From the electrical system to the stained glass windows, we have been doing our part to keep AMC a center of light for many years to come.

At this time of year when we honor and celebrate the awakening of Christ Consciousness in all of us, we ask for your generosity as we continue our mission. As it was in our humble beginnings, our future still depends on the kindness and volunteer efforts of people like you. We are excited about what the coming year brings to our chapel and to our ministry. We hope you are excited, too, as we embark on a new era.

We also appreciate your creativity in helping us stimulate support for our continuing efforts. For example, to help pay for the $4,500 expense of restoring our windows, 3 members of our church have each pledged a $500 matching donation. For every dollar in donations, a matching donation will be made up to $1,500, effectively doubling the power of your gifts. We welcome opportunities to inspire our community to be involved in ways like this. Whether you are matching someone else’s donation, or giving your own gift of love, from your wallet or with your time, any gift is a blessing, and you can be sure that the loving energy you create through your generosity will return to you many times over.

During this holiday season, please consider a tax-deductible donation to the Arlington Metaphysical Chapel. As we always say, whatever amount you reach for is exactly what is needed! If you want to make your donation toward a specific effort, such as the window restoration or building repairs, please indicate your wishes on your donation. Any donations exceeding the cost of the effort you are supporting will be used for other meaningful projects at the church.
