How do I know which version of Adobe Reader I have?
Current versions of Adobe Reader are identified by the version number, such as "Adobe Reader 9." If your version is not listed that way, open the Adobe Reader software on your computer. (In Windows, the path is typically Start Menu>Programs>Adobe>Adobe Reader, however, menu options may vary from computer to computer.) When the software opens, select Help>About Adobe Reader from the menu bar. A version number will be displayed. The recommended version is 9 or higher. The version number may appear as three numbers: 9.X.X, where X is any digit. If the version number is less than 9, we recommend that you upgrade to the newest version.

I don't have Adobe Reader. My software is called Adobe Acrobat Reader*
Adobe Acrobat Reader is the former name of this software. If your software has this name, you have an outdated version, and should upgrade to the newest version.
