Spiritual Spotlight: Tracy Bridgham

by Debbie Brasher

November-December 2011

This month’s spotlight shines brightly on platform healer Tracy Bridgham, AMC’s most recently elected member of the Board of Trustees.  While searching for a spiritual home that was a good “fit” Tracy confided in a neighbor about some of the phenomena she was experiencing in her life.  The neighbor simply smiled and told her, “You might be interested in checking out AMC.”  About six months later, Tracy attended her first service on Palm Sunday 2000 with Pastor Emeritus F. Reed Brown officiating and was delighted by what she heard.  The neighbor, who Tracy credits for guiding her to the Chapel, was none other than our very own Rev. Rudy Careaga!

Tracy had a general acceptance of clairaudience through family experiences prior to discovering AMC.  She tells the story of her grandfather fighting in France during World War I.  Trapped in a foxhole under heavy enemy fire, he was able to rescue six soldiers from certain death by heeding the words he heard: “Jim, an angel will protect you.”

Tracy mentions Rev. Brown’s Advanced Psychic Development class and a circle with Choir Director Sue Tenenbaum in which she first experienced a “group” energy as being instrumental in her progression.  She is keen on platform healing work and continues to be amazed by the heat and peace it generates.  Grateful to the many dedicated healers at the Chapel, she extends personal thanks to Andrew Bishop and Randy Doster for their work with her.  Tracy loves the nonjudgmental environment of the Chapel where she is free to study the teachings of A Course in Miracles.

A Federal government attorney for the last 24 years, Tracy enjoys biking.  After graduation from law school in 1987, she rode across the country from Seattle, Washington to Atlantic City, New Jersey for the American Lung Association.  She has participated in triathlons as well as competitive swimming where she won a college scholarship for the breaststroke.  Although Tracy maintains a very busy schedule, she still finds time to swim several times a week, be with friends and family, and work with her plants and in-home trees, some of which are more than a decade old!  She is in constant awe of God’s loving presence and is devoted to being in a community where that is expressed.

As many others have remarked, Tracy considers AMC home and loves sitting in the sanctuary surrounded by the loving, healing energy of the Chapel.  Of her fellow Board members Tracy comments, “I am struck by the beauty of these souls and how much they really love the Chapel - everyone strives to work well together - it is an honor to serve with them.”

Thank you, Tracy - from all of us - for the dedication, commitment and love that youbring to your service here at AMC.  It is our honor to have you in our midst.

Namaste.
