Pastor Search Update

The application process officially ended on May 31.  Three people applied and will be invited to visit AMC as candidates.  The candidates are:

Rev. Cheryl Jepson of Myrtle Beach, SC *
Rev. Sally Knuckles of Dunbar, WV
Deacon Justin Terry of Roanoke, VA

*Rev. Cheryl Jepson has voluntarily withdrawn her application for the senior Pastor position to continue her education.

Each candidate will be invited to spend four days (Sunday to Wednesday) at the chapel working and meeting the congregants.  While here, each candidate will be delivering the sermon at both Sunday services, giving messages at the All Message Service on Wednesday, teaching a class, and attending a lunch after the 11:00 a.m. Sunday service to meet the congregants in a social setting.   The Search Committee will also interview each candidate privately.

After all candidates have been through their interview visits there will be a special membership meeting called to discuss and to vote for the next senior pastor.  This meeting will likely be in September.

To the right is a list of the dates when each candidate is scheduled to be at AMC serving the Chapel as a candidate.  Additional announcements will be made regarding the class topic each person will teach.
