AMC Board News

Listed here are the highlights of the September and October 2011 Board of Trustees' meetings. 

Old Business

• It was discussed if upgraded lighting in the parking lot was needed.  It was determined that some of the exterior lights had burned out and would be replaced to see if that corrected the problem.
• The electrical work has been completed and we are waiting for the inspector to come to approve the changes and close out this project.
• We will go ahead with the parking lot repair and sealing.  This project had to wait until the PODS for the yard sale was removed.  The sealing will take place in November.
• All of the stained glass windows have been repaired and reframed and are back in place in the sanctuary.
• NOVA ASHI, the certified home inspectors group, will be using our properties as a case study for their students.  They will need access to our buildings all day on Oct 28.  After they are finished they will send us a report of possible, needed repairs.

New Business

• The board voted on the appointments of Mark Stein to Board Vice President and Alice Mayo to Trustee #1.  These appointments will be ratified at the January 2012 membership meeting.
• The Board reviewed changes and updates to the AMC Constitution and Bylaws for final review at the November board meeting. 
• Tracy Bridgham volunteered to be the historian for AMC. 
• Alice Mayo offered to purchase office supplies at Costco which will be a savings from purchasing directly from Staples.
• It was decided to put the portable wheelchair ramp in the yard sale rather than try to use it at the chapel.  It was decided there is not enough room on the front porch to use the ramp and to turn a wheelchair.
• The board voted on its pledge to UMC to be made at the convention in October.  It was decided to pledge $2,500 for 2012.
